Horizontal Buttonhole Tutorial When Using Tunisian Crochet

I have been working on a Tunisian crochet project that requires a buttonhole. I tried looking for a tutorial on it but the ones I found seemed either too complicated or did not give the look I wanted. So after playing around a little, I came up with a simpler way that gives a finished look.

In case anyone else is looking for something similar, here you go.

Triple Twist Headband Ear Warmer Tunisian Knit Crochet Free Pattern

The first cool temperatures hit here last week and we all ran to dig out our winter gear. Of course my children have outgrown everything from last year so, here we go to re-stock.

The Windy City has nothing on our town and we always need something to keep the cold air away from our ears. Time for a warm headband!

Sunflower Crocodile Stitch Doily Crochet

I was looking for a sunflower doily crochet pattern but couldn't find one that made me think "this is it." I saw several photos, but nothing that was exact. This was my first go. I would like to make a few changes to the outlying petals but I was pleased with the final result.

Lace Boot Cuffs Crochet Pattern

Every year, my daughter and I go to a huge craft show called "An Affair of the Heart". We look forward to it every year and we try to make something "new" to wear. About 5 years ago, I had an idea to make some boot decorations.

Cabbage Patch Doll Hair Hat Wig Free Crochet Pattern for American Girl 18 inch Dolls

It seems these little wigs are all the rage these days! They are everywhere! The only thing I haven't seen is one in an 18" doll size. Since I don't have a baby girl but I do have an older girl who just happens to love American Girl Dolls, I had to come up with one for her.

No Bake, All Natural, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Corn Syrup Free, Goldilocks "Just Right" Energy Protein Bars

I've tried many "healthy" granola bar recipes - some were not so healthy, some were not so tasty! Some were dry, some had a not-so-appetizing texture...

There is just enough liquid to make these moist and chewy, there is enough texture that they hold their shape, they aren't too sweet, there is a crunch, no artificial ingredients or preservatives -

I hate to sound like Goldilocks, but these are JUST RIGHT!

"Just Right" Bars

Ingredients:
2 cups toasted, rolled oats
1 16 oz jar Natural, unsweetened Chunky Peanut Butter
(or 1 1/2 cups - any nut butter will do)
1 cup ground flaxseed (measured after grinding)
1/2 cup chia seed
3/4 cup filled halfway with raw honey and raw maple syrup
3/4 dried fruit (I used cranberries and white raisins)
1/2 cup chocolate or carob chips
1/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds (or other nut)
1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon (to taste)

Stir all ingredients together, press firmly and evenly into a glass 9x13 dish. Cover and refrigerate at least an hour, overnight is best.

Cut into bars (I got 18) and wrap individually or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Enjoy!
